MY HOME TOWN GUIDE FOR A HOME TOWN EXPERIENCE
Travel & Transportation
MCI- Kansas City International Airport
All flights should be booked from your starting destination to MCI Airport. Click the link here to see what airlines fly to MCI. Transportation from MCI to downtown Kansas City will take about 25 minutes.
Welcome to our new and beautiful airport! Ask any native to Kansas City and they will tell you just how awesome it is. I would arrive an hour and a half in advance prior to boarding. Enjoy a drink or some fantastic food—it’s that cool.
Transportation
My recommendation for transportation would be Uber or Lyft. They’re super reliable, safe, and easily accessible. Download your apps before you land! Don’t forget to ride share.
You can easily rent a car at the airport while in KC but Uber & Lyft rides will be sufficient if you ride share.
KC Spring Weather
If you know anything about Kansas, you may have heard how unpredictable the weather can be. To make packing a breeze, I have included some information below. April is commonly known for being mildly cool and breezy. Bring layers, especially a jacket to bundle up with for when you’re not in studio. Long pants and a sweater for dinner would be perfect.
April Average High: 68°F
April Average Low: 44°F
April Average Rainfall: 32%
Sleeping Accommodations
For this all inclusive experience I have booked a beautiful, mid-century design home with contemporary amenities that includes 7 beds and 5.5 baths. Everyone is not expected to stay in the house however, there are 7 beds at this location. This home will offer plenty of fun amenities to bond and most importantly, relax. If you would like to stay somewhere else at your own cost, I have listed available hotels below. With that being said, I strongly encourage everyone to stay together. Bonding is one of the most important aspects of this workshop, and guarantees an immersive experience.
If you plan on making separate sleeping arrangements please notify us at JSPhotographyEDU@gmail.com
Please note that this workshop isn’t exclusive to any gender. We welcome everyone and will make sleeping arrangements accordingly.
All of the hotels listed below are within 10 minutes from my studio. I have looked at prices, but please note that they are subject to change.
